It's been a while since my last post, but that's because we've been very busy on the project. We obtained an initial floor plan for the clinic, but upon discussion by the Advisory Group, we determined that it lacked many important elements, e.g. closet for the server, a clean room to sterilize equipment, and a conference room. We passed onto the contractor the revisions we needed and suggested that he consider adding an additional 200 sq ft to the clinic. We await the revised floor plan and budget with bated breath!
On a personal level, I must saw that working on this project has been a profound experience. I am so gratified and humbled by the willingness of our Advisory Group to provide answers to questions that I cannot nor should not answer alone. The wisdom of the group is indeed superior to the wisdom of the individual.
Our principles are in direct alignment with some of the United Nation's seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals were established this year and are designed to lift millions of people from poverty by 2030. The SDGs address areas such as education, access to clean water, climate change, healthcare and more. Our model is in line with three of those SDGs: healthcare; sustainable development; and access to water, sanitation and hygiene. Look for the Principles to appear on our website soon!
Research on rainwater harvesting and solar power continues. Once we decide on these systems, we will price them out to complete our budget.
